Compassionate Kids Rock!

On May 14th, ARF's Kids Club visited the grade 4/5 class at Earl Grey School, in Calgary. Through their Entrepreneurial Adventures Program, they raised over $2,000 and donated it to ARF. This program allows students to choose a project, set it up like a small business, run the business and then donate all the profits to an organization of their choosing. This class set up a mini shopping mall at their school and one of the students, Berlin, took the initiative to contact several locally owned pet stores around Calgary asking for donations of pet supplies to sell. With these donations, they were able to set up a Pet Supply store in their mall with some of the left over inventory also donated to ARF.

The children attentively sat through a brief ARF presentation and got to meet some ARF puppies at the end.

We greatly appreciate the support Calgary Area schools and youth provide us. They are, after all, the next generation of rescuers and we firmly believe compassion should be nurtured at a young age!

If you would like more information on ARF's Kids Club and the programs it provides for schools and youth groups, please contact Beth at kids.club@arf.ab.ca. We'd love to hear from you!
